Helium Gas Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions relate to helium gas hire with Shop Balloons. They are subject to change. These terms were compiled in January, 2025.
General Notes
- Helium gas canisters are only ever a rental item. You will not own the canister at any point.
- You are responsible for the safe loading of a canister into your vehicle. We can bring the canister to your vehicle if needed but we are not able to load it.
- You must understand how to safely use a canister and return it to us in a safe and damage free condition.
- We do not supply any attachments with the canister.
- Canisters will be supplied sealed. If this seal is broken you are viewed to have used the canister, even if the guage reads as full. No refunds or partial refunds for part used canisters are permitted.
- Any issues with the canister or its contents must be reported in writing within 24 hours of collection, via email to orders@shopballoons.co.uk
- A barcode from each canister you hire will be noted on collection. You must return that same canister barcode.
- In the event of any issues, the decision of Shop Balloons management is final.
Monthly Rental
- A monthly rental fee of £15 (inclusive of VAT) is charged per canister you have hired with us. The £15 is charged whether you have the canister for the full month or a few days within that month.
- For every canister you hire, a subscription must be set up on the Shop Balloons website to take the payment via credit or debit card. It cannot be done in store or via a Direct Debit mandate.
- If your subscription charge fails, we will try to take the payment again over the next two days. If payment fails after this point your subscription will be cancelled and the canister must be returned to our warehouse within 48 hours.
- A failed subscription charge of £10 may be applicable. Repeated issues with subscriptions may prevent you from hiring with us again in future.
Damage Deposit
- A damage deposit of £100 is charged for each canister hired from us. This will be retained in the event of any damage.
- On return of a canister, the deposit will be refunded to your card within 5-10 working days. If you are replacing a canister, the deposit will roll over to the new canister.
- If a canister is lost or not returned, you are liable for the full cost of the replacement with our supplier (BOC). An example cost (as of Jan 29, 2025) is £575 for the replacement of a Linde G20. We will take legal action to recover this if necessary, plus associated costs.
